Cataract Surgery

Cataract surgery can help restore vision and re-establish independence in daily life. Performed by a trained ophthalmologist, cataract surgery involves the removal of the eye’s natural lens – often using lasers for more precise treatment and a faster recovery. The old lens is removed and replaced with a new one made of silicone or acrylic. These lenses can also be created to specific powers in order to restore visual acuity and lessen dependence on glasses.

Dry Eye Center of Excellence

Dry eye syndrome occurs when your eyes chronically do not produce enough moisture and lubrication along the surface of the eye. The medical term for dry eyes, keratitis sicca, refers to a decrease in the production of tears.

Symptoms of dry eyes include constant irritation, such as dryness, scratching and burning. Another symptom of dry eyes is “foreign body sensation,” the feeling that something is irritating the eye. And finally, watery eyes, as a result of an over stimulated production of the water component of your eye.

Diabetic Retinopathy

Diabetic retinopathy is a diabetic eye disease that causes damage to the blood vessels within the retina. The National Eye Institute reports it as the leading cause of blindness in U.S. adults. The condition is progressive, with symptoms beginning subtly and advancing over time. In fact, the earliest stage, known as mild non-proliferative retinopathy, is often symptom-free and identifiable only by a comprehensive dilated eye exam. This exam is especially important for diabetics at least once yearly.

Cosmetic Services

At Multack Eye Care we offer a number of surgical and non-surgical treatments for patients who want to fight the signs of aging and achieve a more youthful, refreshed appearance. For many, when the area surrounding the eyes begins to age, it can affect a person’s ability to see. When this happens, the surgery is deemed medical and can be covered by medical insurance. Surgery can also be performed for cosmetic reasons – to specifically improve and rejuvenate the appearance of the eyes and/or improve vision. Let our experts educate and support you in the right decision for your specific needs!

STACY H
Customer since 2017

I‘ve had a wonderful experience from when Dr Plummer first diagnosed my cataracts, through testing & measuring & selecting an IOL lens with Michelle, & culminating with Dr. Multack's surgical eye correction. The cataract removal was completely painless & as I walked out of the surgery center I could already discern brighter clearer vision... Dr. Multack has been so kind, so patient with all my questions, & informative throughout. I couldn't have chosen a better eye surgeon & team, & look forward to having my second cataract surgery.
